LIHUE – After a number of years out of the PBA, Alvin Lou rejoined to bowl the Hawaii tournaments. So far it looks like a good decision as he is the leader after ten games of qualifying in the 3rd Annual Rice Shopping Center Open at Lihue Bowling Center.
Lou, a two time PBA National champion used his experience to overcome the challenging lane conditions. His consistency and good spare shooting enabled him to not have the bad game that everyone else did.
Hawaii local, Tracy Nakishima had a pair of 244 games in the afternoon five game qualifying block to advance to Tuesdays finals as the second seed. He was just ahead of PBA touring players Tony Reyes and Curtis Woods.
The top 12 players will return Tuesday morning at 10:00am for the matchplay finals. They will roll twelve games of head-to-head competition.
