Someone snuck into a secure garage at a home on Hekili Road in Kapa’a early Friday morning and set a vehicle on fire, according to the Kauai Police Department.
The sport utility vehicle in the garage was totally destroyed, and the fire did some damage to the garage as well.
Since the perpetrator, or perpetrators, who struck between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, got away undetected, the KPD is seeking the public’s help.
They have opened a criminal property damage and arson investigation into the case, and would like anyone with any information about the incident to call the Crime Stoppers line, 241-6787, or either of the officers investigating the case, Det. Joe Adric, 241-6748, or Det. Roy Asher, 241-6797.
