Kenn N. Kojima, a 1976 Waimea High School graduate, has been named Deputy Director of the California Department of General Services’ Real Estate Services Division by California Governor Gray Davis.
Kojima will oversee California’s multi-billion dollar real estate development and management operations, which include more than 20 million square feet of state-owned office space, and directs 1,900 employees in six branches.
He was Regional Administrator, Pacific Rim Region, for six years with the federal General Services Administration. Kojima managed a multi-billion-dollar operating and construction budget with more than 30 million square feet of commercial office space.
Under Kojima’s leadership, seven federal courthouses were completed in Guam, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Reno, Nev.; Tucson, Ariz.; and Sacramento and Santa Ana, Calif. Historic structures restored during his service with the GSA include the Court of Appeals Building, U.S. Customs House of San Francisco and the Bankruptcy Courthouse in San Diego.
Kojima is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
Kojima specialized in bankruptcy, foreclosure, real estate and corporate law as a commercial litigation partner with the Honolulu firm of Dwyer, Imanaka, Schraff, Kudo, Mayer and Fujimoto.
He is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center, and graduated with honors from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Management and Personnel and Industrial Relations.
