The Hawaii Surfing Federation’s Hawaii Water Movement Series kicked off its fourth contest at Kealia beach in Kaua’i last weekend.
Ashley Fagerstedt edged Bethany Hamilton for the girls surfing bracket, followed by Alana Blanchard, Lyra Drouin, Andrianna Mendvil and Dani O’Connel (in that order).
For the boys surfer division, Chris Enieim stole the show and Kyle Ramey followed right behind. Clay Posner came in third, and he was followed by Kalani Martin, Casey Satterfield and Teva Dexter to round out the top six finishers.
Kalani Martin surfed in the boy’s bracket and claimed fourth, but he won the Menehune division over girl’s second place finisher Bethany Hamilton. Alex Smith, Tyler Newton, Bear Bailey and Kalevi Yaniwaiyah rounded out the Menehune round.
Zack Arreola came out with the gold in the Junior division at Kealia. Drew Irons, Kyle Calloway, Hoky Hookanom, Kana Kirkpactrick and Kyle Ramey rounded out the top six for the juniors.
Ryan Moribe found himself on top of two divisions. He took the Senior bodyboards and Junior Bodyboards. Jacob Pembrook, Maui Givens, Casildo Quiroz, Sean Allen and Kyle Forker rounded out the senior body boarding division. And Allen, Pembrook, Pyper Luellen, Matthew Murray and Maui Givens made up the rest of the Juniors.
Cory Mira topped Jeremy Ferguson to take the Boys Bodyboard division. Jeremy Ferguson, David Phillips, Travis Smith, Noah Murray and Nicholas Murray rounded out the bracket.
And in Open Men’s surfing, Masaijah Lani edged Kyle Calloway for the victory and Paul Franzen, Hoky Hookano, Chris Sattefield and Sack Arreola followed.
