Roth IRA seminar set for Saturday
Ruben J. Rea, investment representative with Edward Jones, and Michael Carter, regional vice president with Lord, Abbett & Co., will discuss Roth IRAs (individual retirement accounts) at Hawaiian Classic Desserts on Rice Street near the highways in Lihu’e, beginning at 10 a.m. this Saturday, Feb. 9.
The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 created the Roth IRA as a new way to save for the future. The men will explain it all. Breakfast will be served, and reservations should be made in advance by calling Susie Massaro, 632-0351, by tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 4.
Marriott executives say ‘mahalo’ to world
On a global sales mission, 120 Marriott International (NYSE: MAR) executives visited more than 200 of the company’s most loyal customers in 17 cities in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America, to say “thank you” for their continued support. A similar mission in Asia and Australia is planned for mid-March.
Marriott operates the Kaua’i Marriott Resort & Beach Club and the under-construction Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club on this island, and seven properties on Maui and O’ahu.
Human resources solutions are offered
Coaching for Optimal Performance is the next course in a series of half-day classes offered by Human Resources Solutions, a Honolulu firm contracted by the Employment and Training Fund Office of the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
It is set for this Thursday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Kaua’i Electric conference room near Kukui Grove Center. Participants will learn to take more active roles in evaluating individual and collective performance, with suggestions offered for generating more group-member commitment to improve results, and mutually planning and carrying out ways to work smarter. Please call 274-3056 for registration and more information.
