Selected from over 12,000 entrants, John and Rebecca Belleci of Oakley, Calif. won the grand prize of a week’s stay at a two-bedroom, ocean-view condominium at Nihi Kai, convertible rental car, and various island gifts.
The couple, married at Po’ipu a year ago and expecting their first child in January, were in the middle of moving into their new home when they got the call that they were the grand-prize winners in the annual Grantham Resorts contest on the Internet.
They entered the contest via the Web site, www.grantham-resorts.com, and were chosen at random from over 12,000 entries received this year.
The Grantham Resorts staff greeted the couple with fresh leis on their arrival.
“It’s really a dream come true to celebrate our first anniversary on Kaua’i,” said John Belleci. “Thank you, Grantham Resorts.”
Enjoying rest, relaxation and perfect weather on the island during their stay, the couple said they are hoping to “make a habit of celebrating our anniversaries on Kaua’i.”
They are the winners of the annual 6 Days/7 Nights in Paradise contest, named for the movie “6 Days/7 Nights,” which was filmed largely on Kaua’i and starred Harrison Ford and Anne Heche.
