All of the scoring that happened last night at the Junior Varsity showdown at Vidinha Stadium took place in the first quarter.
The rest of the game turned into a muddy stalemate.
Kaua’i’s Weston Victorino opened up the scoring at Vidinha Stadium with a 58-yard touchdown dash that put the Red Raiders up 7-0.
With eight seconds left in the first quarter, Austin Rosa intercepted a Kekoa Crowell pass and ran it back 34 yards for the touchdown that tied the game at seven.
That was the extent of the scoring for the three quarters that ensued in the game.
The game actually clinched the J.V. Title for Waimea, who goes into next week’s game against Kapa’a with a 3-1-1 record. Kaua’i ends their season with a record of 2-3-1, and Kapa’a will go to Hanapepe with a record of 1-3-1.
