Recruitment for managers, coaches, or volunteers for other positions in the Kawaihau Little League are asked to contact Board President Jim Rosa.
This announcement heralds the start of the league in Kapa’a who will be holding a community work day at the main diamond on Saturday, October 27 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Children born between August and December of 1992 until January and July of 1997 qualify to participate in one of the divisions for the 2001 season.
In addition to Rosa, other board members include William Aki, Rick Burrell, Sylvia Cole, Lisa Lau, Ilima Lopez, Darrell Norell, Karleen Abalos, Ricky Balajadia, Sheri Cole, Jim Hennesy, Michelle Lemi, and Joanne Noone.
According to league officials, due to the state’s and nation’s crisis, the league will be lowering the fees for this season’s play, and officials are working to do the best with less funds.
Safe equipment and play, however, remains a top priority with the officials.
