A pass intended for Waimea’s Casey Barba (27) (left) falls after Kapa’a’s Andrew Gaditano almost intercepted the aerial in Junior Varsity football at Hanapepe Stadium.
In a game which included seven fumbles and two interceptions, Waimea outlasted the Kapa’a Warriors 16-7.
At the half, Waimea was trailing 7-2 after Warrior RB Kai Lopez scored a touchdown run and Kapaa’s center over-threw his punter behind the end-zone for a safety. But Waimea came back in the second half to score two big running touchdowns, a one-yarder from Austin Arthur and the other a 10-yard run by Ian Kahale.
