Team cruises in round two, wraps up championship
Hana Hou left little doubt as to who was the best team in the Hawai’i Government Employee Association Mountainball League. Hana compiled an 11-1 record for the season and Tuesday wrapped up the league championship with a convincing 16-0 shutout of Nogi’s at Isenberg Field.
Hana’s only loss came in Week 2 of the season, when it fell to Kaua’i Fire Department. The loss set the stage for the first-round playoff between Hana Hou, KFD and Kathleen Glass.
Hana avenged its loss to KFD in the first playoff game with a 7-3 victory. Then it slipped past Kathleen 5-4 to secure the first round.
The second round was not as difficult for Hana.
Following are the last two weeks’ worth of mountainball action (team records, except for Hana Hou and Kathleen Glass, do not include action from August 23. Results of those games were not available.).
