Shaka Shears, recently relocated to Kapa’a from Hanalei, has its grand opening planned this Saturday, Aug. 18, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The bash will be hosted by Judy Darling, salon owner, along with her brother Jamie Darling, and their “cutting-edge” team of Dana and Tyler, at the new location off Kuhio Highway at Lemon Grass Square behind Lemon Grass restaurant. Free pupu, prizes, pampering lash tints, haircuts and color, permanent make-up and body waxes are being offered during the celebration. The setting of the new Shaka Shears salon location is a 1930s-era, plantation-style home. Judy Darling recently created the hair and makeup for Miss Diamond Head in the Miss Hawai’i pageant, and is ready, willing and able to take a turn at anyone coming through the doors. The full-service salon is open daily, with evening hours by appointment as well. For more information, please call 823-9616.
