Hole-In-One
On Friday, July 27, Nikko Tacsiat sunk a hole-in-one on the par 3 fifth hole at Puakea Golf Course. The Lihu’e resident was using a pitching wedge on the 130-yard hole.
Two-day youth basketball camp
The Kaua’i Youth Basketball Association has completed a very successful summer of hoops that saw the number of participating teams jump from 29 to 35.
But things don’t stop just yet.
The KYBA is offering a summer youth basketball clinic on August 3-4 for boys and girls competing at the intermediate or high school level.
Aiea High School head coach Fran Kahawaii and her staff will conduct the sessions. They will be sharing the Aiea girls’ basketball system that won the team the 2001 state high school championship.
Sessions will offer tips and technique for offense, defense and combined skill play beginning Friday, Aug. 3 at Kalaheo Neighborhood Center. The program will run all day on Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Kapa’a High School Gym.
Registration cost is just $15 for two days. To sign up, contact Karen Matsumoto at 332-9958.
