The 2001 Pony Baseball of Kaua’i Goodwill Tournament got underway Friday at Hanapepe Stadium. Between the Mustang and Bronco divisions, 19 teams were in action, including eight squads from the Garden Island.

The tourney continues Saturday and Sunday in Hanapepe, with games slated to begin at 9 a.m. each day.

There will be no winner crowned at the tourney’s end. The goodwill format simply brings together teams who want to get in multiple games in a short time span.

Off-island representatives have come from Oahu and the Big Island.
