KALAHEO – Lihu’e And 1’s Scott Taylor blistered the twine at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center with 23 points, including a fourth quarter trey to lead his team to a 40-20 win over the Lihu’e 76ers and the title of the Kaua’i Youth Basketball Association’s 10-Under division Monday night.
Taylor added the insurance on a 20-point lead with the trey at the final buzzer.
High pointer for the 76ers was Justin Ramos with 10 points.
Third place honors in the KYBA 10-Under division went to the Westside Hornets who saw Kea Lopez bag a pair of 3-pointers enroute to his 8-point showing.
Rachel Hamamura and Jasmine Tacub combined for 8 points to lead Na Hoku.
The night’s finale had Kapa’a outpacing Na Ua 39-23 in Girls 17-Under play. Tania Tasic pushed 15 points to lead Kapa’a with Lindsay Sugihara leading Na Ua with her 10 points.
Playoffs for the Girls 17-Under begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Kaua’i High School gym.
