Calling them “always friendly” and “very easy to work with,” it was a pleasure for Derek Lania of Viking Freight to come to Kaua’i to present awards recently to Robert Perreira and Mina Esposo of Puhi’s Kaua’i Commercial Company, Inc.
The two were honored for outstanding service to Viking Freight customers on Kaua’i, said Lania, a Viking Freight account manager based in Honolulu.
Perreira is a lead man and warehouse supervisor, and Esposo is a senior clerk.
Kaua’i Commercial, and FedEx, deliver Viking Freight to Viking customers all across Kaua’i. Viking Freight is owned by FedEx.
Viking offers next-day and second-day delivery services throughout 11 western states, including Alaska and Hawai’i. It prides itself in being a company EZTDBW(easy to do business with).
Kaua’i Commercial is a wholly owned subsidiary of A&B-Hawai’i, Inc. (ABHI), the property development, management and food products subsidiary of Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALEX).
The local company hauls sugar, molasses, petroleum, containers, general cargo, household goods, and other freight.
It also offers dump-truck services and a mini-storage operation in Puhi, with truck, trailer and heavy equipment repair and maintenance shops.
Kaua’i Commercial has nearly 50 employees, most represented by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU).
