The Garden Island learned Friday afternoon that Kaua’i Nursery & Landscaping Inc. is in the process of acquiring Kaua’i Trees & Palms, Inc.
Lelan Nishek, president of Kaua’i Nursery & Landscaping (KNL), confirmed yesterday that his company is buying Kaua’i Trees & Palms.
Doreen L. Sanchez-Rego is president of Kaua’i Trees & Palms Inc. She referred calls to Nishek. The contracting company that bears her name has twice failed to finish county public-works contracts in a timely manner.
KNL, at Puhi, is the general contractor for the Lihu’e Airport gateway project and many other projects big and small on the island.
Sanchez-Rego maintains a business office in Kapaia. Nishek did not disclose a sale price.
