Don’t worry if you get grandma or grandpa’s voice-mail message at Kaua’i Care Center in Waimea saying they’re surfing.
It probably means they’re browsing the Web or connecting with friends and relatives via e-mail.
That’s because Hawai’i-based AssistGuide, Inc. has struck up a partnership with Regency Pacific Inc., owner of Kaua’i Care Center, to Web-enable all of Regency Pacific’s locations across four states.
Honolulu’s AssistGuide, a leading provider of Internet solutions exclusively serving senior, health care and disability businesses, announced the partnership recently.
Regency Pacific is a leading retirement, nursing and assisted-living provider with locations on Kaua’i and the Big Island, as well as Washington, Oregon and Nevada.
“This partnership will allow consumers to take virtual tours of the Regency Pacific facilities, and to better choose which facilities meet their special social and health care needs,” said Kevin Sypniewski, chief executive officer and president of AssistGuide.
“In addition to choosing a facility, the residents and their families will be able to stay in closer touch with each other at the Regency Pacific facilities, using technology,” he continued.
“The business efficiencies AssistGuide offers will enable us to be more cost effective in areas like administration, customer service and human resources,” said Jack Leebron, general counsel of Regency Pacific, Inc.
“Finding ways to deliver consumer-focused health care more effectively is always exciting,” Leebron added.
AssistGuide was founded in Hawai’i in 1998, and has expanded its offices to Dallas, Houston and St. Louis. Its services enable providers to reach their target markets and decrease their administrative and operating expenses.
AssistGuide’s solutions incorporate an understanding of senior, long-term-care and disability providers with pre-packaged Internet software that allows businesses to do online recruiting, receive online referrals and provide virtual tours of their facilities, as well as have full e-commerce catalogues for renting or selling wheelchairs, accessible vans, or medical or personal-care supplies.
AssistGuide currently maintains more than 305 provider sites, and has an online resource database of over 140,000 senior, disability and health care providers nationwide.
It also has industry advisors from the National Centers for Independent Living, a leading Internet infrastructure chief technical officer, and an experienced health care executive with multiple start-ups and four initial public offerings.
