The Kaua’i Test Facility (KTF) Project Team, located at the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands, was recently presented with the distinguished ITT President’s Award for dedicated efforts over the last five years.
The KTF team, consisting of 11 people, was recognized for significant contributions leading to the success of KTF and Sandia National Labs.
According to management officials, the KTF team creates a positive image of ITT Industries with each task undertaken. They are credited with epitomizing teamwork, mutual respect, and cooperation at the facility.
In December, ITT Industries was awarded a new five-year contract with Sandia National Labs for continued logistical and maintenance support of KTF.
“This in itself may not appear to be a major achievement,” said ITT Project Manager Paul Molyneaux. “However, today there many government contractors on Kaua’i, more than ever before, yet Sandia went sole source to ITT Industries. A five-year logistics and maintenance contract sole-sourced to ITT is a significant accomplishment,” he said.
The contract was awarded sole source to ITT for one reason only, Molyneaux continued. “The quality of the work and the level of cooperation provided by the KTF Team is second to none. This small group of people displays the highest levels of teamwork, flexibility, and can-do spirit,” he said.
“Their willingness to do any job that is needed to meet their mission and customer needs exceeds all expectations.”
The KTF Team is also credited with operating under very little supervision, performing excellent work, and understanding that each mission is a priority, said Molyneaux.
KTF Team members include Andrew Winchester, Richard Oden, Clarence Estes, Michael Mier, Charles Vegas, Sharon Cabral, David Saunders, Gilman Apo, Roy Apo, Julie Rentrop, and Warren Kawaguchi.
