Yes, it’s canoe race season again! So hele on down to Wailua River Park, on the north bank of lovely Wailua River for the annual Walter J. Smith Memorial Regatta. The races will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, and continue until about 4 p.m. It’s free entertainment for the whole family. And come hungry! Host Kawaikini Canoe Club will be selling lots of good grinds. For more information, call 822-0647.

Game 1: North East 70, Da Lows 59; Kapu Hendricksen led the winners with 12 points; Garrett Danner scored 22 for North East
Game 2: Westside Boys 58, Waimea 49; Micah Bermoy led the Westside Boys with 19; Winnie Arios scored 15 to pace Waimea
Game 3: Red Dirt Boys 52, Team Faith 39; Thomas Keophuhiwa hit for 15 points for Red Dirt; Nalu Hawelu led Team Faith with 11.
