The Hawaiian Surfing Federation Kaua’i/YMCA announces contest number four. The event will be held at Kealia April 21-22. Alternate dates are May 6-7.
All events are point-rated. Year-end ratings and state championship qualifications will be based on best four out of five events.
Surfing competition will be held in the following categories: Menehune (12-under); boys (13-14); Juniors (15-17); men (18-24); and girls (17-under)
Bodyboard competition will be held in the following categories: boys (14-under); juniors (15-17); and seniors (18-24)
Check-in time for bodyboarding is 7 a.m. with competition to begin at 7:30 a.m. Surfing check-in time is 10 a.m.

Pop Warner meeting
The Lihu’e Pop Warner Association will hold a general membership meeting on Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. at the HGEA building in Lihu’e. Parents are urged to attend. For more information call Wes Masumura (245-3025) or Bob Crowell (245-6857).
Junior Olympic softball sign-ups
The Kapa’a Junior Olympics Association will be having sign-ups for girls’ fastpitch softball in the 18-under, 14-under, 12-under and 10-under divisions.
Registration forms are available at the Pono Market and will be at the Kapa’a softball field April 18-19 and 25-26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Mokihana Aquatics is having its open tryouts until April 27 at the Kaua’i High School swimming pool. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday until that date, the public is encouraged to give the club a try.
Practice begins at 5 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m.
