The Golf Channel is bringing its Drive, Chip and Putt Junior Golf Skills Competition to the Poipu Bay Resort on Thursday, March 22.
Kaua’i is one of the 100 stops throughout the U.S. and Canada that the tour will make this year.
The first 120 contests will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis from completed registration forms available at Poipu Bay Resort or by calling 742-8711.
Contestants will be divided into three groups: 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12.
The driving portion of the contest will consist of hitting three drives, each measured for distance and accuracy. The chipping competition will as participants to chip three balls onto a green pre-marked with concentric circles. As for the putting, contestants will hit two balls, one from five feet, the other from 15 feet.
Prizes will be awarded to the top five finishers in each group as well to the top three overall finishers.
