HONOLULU (AP) — The president of Amfac/JMB, Gary Grottke, has decided to resign to pursue other interests.
Grottke, 45, who has been president of Amfac/JMB since 1997, said he wants to focus full-time on Quintus Resorts time-share company, where he is co-president.
Chicago-based Quintus was formed three years ago and owns three time-share resorts, including the Hanalei Bay Resort on Kauai.
Amfac named Gary Kickele to replace Grottke.
The Maui-based Amfac/JMB is one of the state’s oldest and largest private landowners.
The company owns 5,000 acres on Maui and 17,000 acres on Kauai.
