Samuel K. Aipia Sr.
Samuel K. Aipia Sr. of Hanalei, Kaua’i, died at home on January 19, 2001, at the age of 68.
Born in Puuanahulu, Big Island on March 27, 1932, he was a retired Equipment Operator with Princeville Corp.
He is survived by: his wife: Winona Aipia of Hanalei, Kaua’i; two sons: Sam (Teresa) Aipia of Kilauea, Kaua’i and Shawn Aipia of Wailua Homesteads, Kaua’i; two daughters: Goldie (David) Steward and Brenda Aipia, both of Hanalei, Kaua’i; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother: Charles Aipia, Jr. of Kona, Big Island; three sisters: Priscilla Lowe of Kaneohe, Oahu, Armine Keane of Kaneohe, Kaua’i, and Wolletta Collona of Virginia.
Friends may visit with the family at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Kapa’a Kingdom Hall Jehovahs Witnesses; service officiated by Brother Don Mahi will begin at 2 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Angel Balisacan
Infant Angel Balisacan of Kapa’a, died Jan. 9, 2001, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 9, 2001, she is survived by her parents: Amante and Mariotta Balisacan of Kapa’a; one sister: Alisa Baliscan of Kapa’a and one brother: R.J. Baliscan of Kapa’a; paternal grandparents: Mauricio and Rosa Balisacan of Kapa’a; maternal grandmother: Teresa Yago of Hanama’ulu; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Direct graveside services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Lihu’e Public Cemetery at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Kazuko Omori
Kazuko “Nancy” Omori of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 17, 2001, at the age of 86.
Born in Kapa’a Homesteads, Kaua’i, on Dec. 10, 1914, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by: two daughters: Shirley (Gerald) Ibe of Kaneohe, O’ahu and Barbara Omori of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; two brothers: Hajimi (Jean) Terayama of Honolulu, O’ahu and Ayao Terayama of Honolulu, O’ahu; numerous nieces.
Funeral service has been scheduled at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Lihu’e Hongwanji Mission; with service officiated by Rev. Yukiko Motoyoshi. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Ciriaco Coloma
Ciriaco “Cy” Lagadon Coloma of Hilo, HI; died Jan. 15, 2001, at Straub Clinic on O’ahu, at the age of 75.
A licensed practical nurse and an Emergency Medical Technician for the former Hilo Hospital, he was born April 19, 1925, in Ookala, HI.
He is survived by his wife: Nancy Coloma of Hilo, HI; son, Jerry (Sui Sin) Coloma of Hilo, HI; brother: Dominador (Vivian) Coloma of Hilo, HI; four sisters: Lourdes (Leoncio) Casamina and Consuelo (Samuel) Cadacio, both of Honolulu; HI; Priscilla (Pelagio) Andres of Kaua’i; and Marina (James) Barientos of Chicago, Ill; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, Jan. 25, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Dodo Mortuary in Hilo where a Mass will be said at 6 p.m.
Friends may call again on Friday, Jan. 26, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park.
Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted. Arrangements are being handled by Dodo Mortuary, Inc.
