Lillian Kawamoto of Po’ipu, Kaua’i; one son, three daughters, two grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may
visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Koloa Hongwanji
Mission; service officiated by Rev. Ikeda will begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire
is suggested.

William Bertrand
William “Bill” Donald Bertrand, 66, of
Lihu’e, died Dec. 30, 2000, at Queen’s Hospital in Honolulu.
Visitation
and funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 10, at Immaculate
Conception Church, with visitation from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Mass at 2 p.m. with
burial to follow at Kaua’i Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe. Celebration
gathering at the Hanapepe Neighborhood Center following burial.
Vice
President of Midway Limited and a Sales Executive with 101 Things To Do based
on Kaua’i, Bertrand’s career in sales and marketing included positions such as
director of sales and marketing for Aloha Airlines, San Francisco regional
manager for Avis Rent-A-Car, purser & hotel manager for Matson Navigation
Company and vice president for Hawaii Express Airlines. He was owner of
Bertrand and Associates, airline and travel industry consultants in Menlo Park,
Calif., managing director of Hawaii/82, a multi-million dollar tourism
promotion program sponsored by the State of Hawaii, and, from 1988-1989 general
manager of local radio station FM-97. He also served in the U.S. Air Force from
1952 to 1956 and was commander of the Nawiliwili Yacht Club, a Kaua’i Senior
Citizens, Inc. board member, private pilot and avid golfer.
Born Jan. 12,
1934, Bertrand is survived by his twin brother John, his mother, Marie Rapozo
Bertrand, three children and one grandchild. He was born in Ahukini, Kaua’i.
His late father, Capt. Jack Bertrand, was vice president and manager of Kaua’i
Consolidated Terminal and Ahukini Harbor master and pilot. Bertrand and his
ex-wife Marie Drew Bertrand, are the parents of three children: William Drew
Bertrand, 37, of Menlo Park, Calif.; Suzanne Bucknel, 36, Colorado Springs,
Colo.; and John William Bertrand II, 31, of Honolulu. He also is survived by
one grandchild.

Mortuary.

Georgiana M. “Ginny” Oliveira Warner
of Lacey, Wash., died Dec. 29, 2000, at her home, at the age of 42.
A
memorial Mass was held at St. Michael Parish on Jan. 3, in Olympia
Wash.,
Born Oct. 17, 1958 on Kaua’i, she served in the U.S. Army for five
years. She and her husband, Master Sergeant Michael Warner Sr. and their son,
Michael Jr., traveled throughout the United States until they retired from the
Army and bought a home in Lacey, where she worked three years at the Heritage
Bank of Tumwater, Wash.
She is survived by her husband Michael Warner Sr.,
son Michael Warner, Jr. of Lacey, Wash.; mother, Helen Alencastre Oliveira of
Kaua’i; brothers, Sylvester Jr. (Yolanda) Oliveira of Kaua’i; Stephen (Jeanne)
Oliveira of Catskill, NY, and Kalani S. Oliveira of Concord, Calif.; sisters,
JoAnn Oliveira of Kaneohe, HI; Bernice (Harold) Crowder of Gardiner, Or.; and
Arlene (Leon) McGee of Sacramento, Calif. She was preceded in death by her
father, Sylvester Oliveira Sr. and sister Janice Swink.
