LIHU’E — The Kaua’i Red Raiders must feel the cards are stacked against
them. Despite another solid effort, the girls fell short again Saturday, losing
1-0 in the first game of a doubleheader. They fell 7-2 in the second
contest.
In the opening game, Waimea (6-0) scored in the top of the first
when Robyn Manuel singled home Melody Manuel. The teams then duked it out for
the remainder of the game. Jamie Koerte led the Menehunes with a 2-for-3
performance. Cecilia was 2-for-3 for Kaua’i (0-6). Albette Nawai picked up the
win, Quibilan the loss.
Waimea cruised in the second contest. Ashley Mier
went 2-for-4, and Koerte picked up two RBI as well as the win on the mound.
Quibilan turned in another 2-for-3 performance, and got an RBI.
