His “Dances With Wolves” was a howling success, but his “Waterworld” listed badly. Maybe “Dragonfly” will put the wings of movie success back on actor Kevin Costner.
Either way, Kaua’i stands to reap some benefits when location filming of Coster’s newest flick begins here in January. The island and sets built by the movie crew will serve as sVenezuela, where the “Dragonfly” script calls for the wife of Costner’s character – a doctor – to disappear on a medical mercy mission and he learns about her fate through the near-death experiences of his patients.
Already rich in moviemaking history, Kaua’i happily is yet again the place for potential cinema magic and the accompanying economic windfall of a cast and crew setting up temporary residence.
