He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diane Marshall
Stys of Kilauea; two sons: Peter (Danna) Stys of Princeville and Philip Stys of
California; one daughter; Julie (Robert) Adams of Kona; six grandchildren; one
sister: Helen (Maurice) Johnson of California; numerous nieces and
nephews.
Private services will be held. Donations can be made in his memory
to Kaua’i Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary.

Jack T. Doi of Kapaa, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox
Memorial Hospital on Dec. 12, 2000, at the age of 91
Born in Lawai, Kaua’i
on Dec. 8, 1909, he was a retired business owner.
He is survived by his
wife: Yukiko Doi of Kapaa, Kaua’i; two sons: Reginald Y. Doi of Honolulu, Oahu
and Malcolm Y. (Rose) Doi of Wailua, Kaua’i; two daughters: Donna D. (Ricard)
Yano of Lihue, Kaua’i and Janice S. (Robert) Lillie of Wailua, Kaua’i; eight
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers: David H. (Ethel) Inagaki
of Lihue, Kaua’i, and Larry S. (Ruth) Inagaki of Maryland; and one sister:
Edith S. Ishii of Honolulu, Oahu; nu’merous nieces and nephews.
Friends
may visit with the family at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Lihu’e
Christian Church; service officiated by Rev. Kevin Page will begin at 3 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Balisacan Balisacan of Lihu’e, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 10,
2000, at the age of 89.
A landscaping laborer for Kaua’i Nursery, he was
born Oct. 12, 1911, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife:
Teofista Ganal Balisacan of Lihu’e; two daughters: Juliana (Felix) Ganiron and
Marina (Tito) Gano, both of Lihu’e; one son: Pedro (Caridad) Balisacan of
Kapa’a; one brother: Juan (Esperanza) Balisacan of the Philippines; one sister:
Matilde Badua of the Philippines; five grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation is
scheduled for Friday, Dec. 22, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel at 6 p.m.
Services to be celebrated at 7 p.m. Visitation is again scheduled on Saturday,
Dec. 23, at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 7 a.m. Saturday morning where Mass
will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu’e Public
Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by
