home on Dec. 10, 2000, at the age of 92.
Born in Banna, Ilocos Norte,
Philippines on Dec. 15, 1907, he was a retired housekeeper with Kauai
Surf.
He is survived by: his wife: Carmelita Coloma of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i;
son: Jason B. Coloma of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i; two adopted daughters: Irene
Coloma and Pearly Coloma (Ronell) Gano, both of the Philippines; one
grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family
from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel;
rosary to begin at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at
the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Mass officiated by Father Paul will
begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at the Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual
attire is suggested.

Raymond Stys of Kilauea, Kaua’i, died
Dec. 11, 2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 81.
A builder with
the carpentry industry, he was born Aug. 22, 1919, in Ohio.
He is survived
by his wife of 59 years, Diane Marshall Stys of Kilauea; two sons: Peter
(Danna) Stys of Princeville and Philip Stys of California; one daughter; Julie
(Robert) Adams of Kona; six grandchildren; one sister: Helen (Maurice) Johnson
of California; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Simon Balisacan Balisacan of Lihu’e, died at Wilcox Memorial
Hospital on Dec. 10, 2000, at the age of 89.
A landscaping laborer for
Kaua’i Nursery, he was born Oct. 12, 1911, in the Philippines.
He is
survived by his wife: Teofista Ganal Balisacan of Lihu’e; two daughters:
Juliana (Felis) Ganiron and Marina (Tito) Gano, both of Lihu’e; one son: Pedro
(Caridad) Balisacan of Kapa’a; one brother: Juan (Esperanza) Balisacan of the
Philippines; one sister: Matilde Badua of the Philippines; five grandchildren,
three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is
scheduled for Friday, Dec. 22, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel at 6 p.m.
Services to be celebrated at 7 p.m. Visitation is again scheduled on Saturday,
Dec. 23, at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 7 p.m. where Mass will be
celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu’e Public Cemetery.
Casual
attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i
