A funeral service will be said 10 a.m. Saturday,
Dec. 9, at Dodo Mortuary, burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 in
Hilo.
She is survived by her husband: George R. Akiu, Sr. of Hilo, Hawaii;
daughter: Ceceliaann (Kaleo) Evans of Hilo, Hawai’i; sons: George R. Akiu, Jr.
of Hilo, HI and Francis (Donna) Akiu of Viola, Kansas; sisters: Irish (Jimmy)
Longtayo of Hilo, HI and Sonny Lou Honda of Anahola, Kaua’i; brothers: Melvin
Kelsom of Hilo, Hawaii, Valentien “Babe” (Maile) Adric of Anahola, Gary
(Brenda) Adric of Anahola, Kauai; Rodney Oogie” (Charlene) Adric of Kapa’a,
Kauai, and Joe Adric of Kapaa, Kauai, Hi; hanai sisters: Midge (Kalehua) Eli of
Honolulu, Leonetta Viloria of Hilo, HI, Lolita (Kenneth) MacCandless of
