Zonta/TGI Christmas FundJames and Annabelle Lambert, 85 and 79 years old,
are a loving couple who have worked hard to save up for their retirement.
A couple years ago, Annabelle had a stroke which affected her speech and
mobility. James has arthritis and also has difficulty walking. Their medical
insurance does not cover all of their medical expenses, and they have used most
of their savings to pay for their medical bills.
On their limited income
and after paying for their living expenses and necessities, they don’t have
much to spend on household items. To brighten their holidays, they could use a
gift certificate to purchase bed pads, Ensure and other household items.
Mom, three kids struggle
Sally is struggling financially with
part-time work and welfare support.
She and her children travel a good
distance daily to school and work, partly because housing is cheaper where they
live and also because the location is farther away from the community the
children’s father lives in. The dad doesn’t work much and doesn’t support the
children.
Sally and her kids have experienced many years of abusive
behavior and are are now working on healing spiritually and mentally.
The
children all need new school clothes and shoes. Judy, 8, would like her own
tape deck or boombox. Jane, 6, would like art supplies. And Jennifer, 2, would
like books for her age.
