Blanche K. AkoBlanche “Kamala” Ako, of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 24, 2000, at the age of 77. Born in Ko’olau, Kaua’i on Dec. 25, 1922, she was a homemaker. She is survived by: her husband:
Blanche K. AkoBlanche “Kamala” Ako, of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at
Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 24, 2000, at the age of 77.
Born in
Ko’olau, Kaua’i on Dec. 25, 1922, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by:
her husband: Elmer Aalona Ako of Pearl City, O’ahu; three sons: Wendell K.
Ako Huddy, Julian K. Ako, and Ranceford N. Ako, all of Honolulu, O’ahu; one
daughter: Roxanna L. (Wayne) Davis of Honolulu, O’ahu; three grandchildren.
four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers:
William L.F. (Elizabeth) Huddy of Kapaa, Kauai; Joseph Luahine (Charlotte)
Huddy of Waimea, Hawaii; sister: Elizabeth K. (Valentine) Ako of Wailua,
Kauai; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may
visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, at the Ko’olau Huiia Church
in Anahola; service officiated by Rev. Richard Kamanu will begin at 11 a.m.
Service will also be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Bishop
Memorial Chapel Kamehameha School on O’ahu followed by burial at the Mililani
Cemetery. Aloha attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
