Lihu’e wraps up junior pee wee title with victory

scored two touchdowns for Lihu’e as the Jaguars captured the junior pee wee

championship with a win over Hanapepe.

Perez’s TDs were nearly identical.

His first came on a 50-yard run, his second on a jaunt from 47 yards out.

Other Jaguars’ touchdowns came courtesy of Micah Alayvilla on a 12-yard

dash and Kupa Graycochea on a 10-yard pass play from quarterback Chyson

Gray.

The Colts’ lone score came via a 67-yard run from Robert Head. The

score narrowed the gap to 14-6 at the half.

Kylan Gandia unleashed the full arsenal last Saturday at

Hanapepe Stadium, as Kekaha cruised by Kapa’a. The Panther rushed for three

touchdowns and made good on two extra point attempts.

He scored first in

the opening quarter, on a 54-yard run from scrimmage. His next touchdown came

midway through the second, when he dashed 29 yards to the end zone.

Gandia

then showed some force at the goalline, as he plunged one yard for a touchdown

late in the third quarter.

The Panthers’ other touchdowns were scored by

Rilen Bayot — after fumble recovery — and Jared Fernandez on a seven-yard

pass play.

The West got on the board first, when Koloa Rams quarterback

connected for an 18-yard score. The lead would not hold up, however. The East

came back in the third quarter, as Kapa’a Steeler Greg Ragsac found the end

zone from five yards out for the tying score.

Kapa’a Steeler Wayland Kupihea accounted for the only points of the game

when he intercepted a pass in the third quarter and rambled 40 yards to the end

zone.

unavailable, the West proved its dominance over the East at Hanapepe
