sons: Benito (Cres) Pangdan of Kilauea and Samuel (Aida) Pangdan of Kilauea;
three sisters and four brothers in teh Philippines; nine grandchildren, 13
great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is
scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Lihu’e Lutheran Church from 8 a.m.
Services to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the church
cemeteyr.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by
Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Mike Tsutaoka
Mike J. Tsutaoka of ‘Ele’ele
died at home on Nov. 3, 2000, at the age of 43.
Born Aug. 10, 1957, he is
survived by his wife, Elaine S. Tsutaoka of ‘Ele’ele; two sons, Aaron M. and
Travis K. Tsutaoka of ‘Ele’ele; his mother and her husband, Christine R. and
Prab Dandekar of Huntington Beach, Calif.; stepfather, Takayuki Tsutaoka, of
Aiea, HI; grandfather Mitsuo Shikuma of Kahului, Maui; in-laws, Lester L. and
Joann S. Carper, of Lewiston, Penn.; two half sisters, Bianca M. (Tom) Baker of
Huntington Beach, Calif., and Lynn Tamashiro of Pearl City, HI; numerous aunts,
uncles and cousins.
He was employed with ITT Industries, Systems Division
at Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands as an Air Traffic Controller.
Prior to that he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on
Kaua’i.
He was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and is a retired member of
the Hawaii Air National Guard, 298th Air Traffic Control Squadron, Barking
Sands, Kaua’i.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, at Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary. The family suggests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10
a.m. by Rev. Kilborn.
Arrangements are being handled by BorthwickKaua’i
Mortuary.
Evelyn Miyake
Evelyn Etsuko Miyake of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died
Nov. 6, 2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 78.
A homemaker,
she was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She is survived by two
daughters: Bonnie Miyake of California and Debbie (Kaipo) Akana of ‘Ele’ele;
two sons: Russell (Kathy) Miyake of O’ahu and Kirk (Carol) Miyake of Japan;
seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister: Marjorie White of
California; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for
Monday, Nov. 13, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 2 p.m. with
services to be celebrated at 3 p.m. Inurnment to follow at the Kaua’i Veterans
Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by
Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Marjorie Bloomberg
Marjorie Jane Bloomberg
died on Nov. 1, 2000, at the age of 70, due to complications from lung cancer.
Born Marjorie Jane Newell on April 20, 1930, in Seattle, Wash., she
attended the prestigious Helen Bush School and Stanford University. She worked
as managers of various clothing stores, including Noa Noa at Kilohana. She
volunteered with the Hawaii Illiteracy Program, the Kauai Museum, and the
Wilcox Thrift Shop.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Newell; three
children; Marc Bloomberg, Wendy Bloomberg-Costa, and Jill Willis; and three
grandchildren.
Flowers and donations can be brought to the memorial service
which will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the recreation center at
Sun Village, behind Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
