Leonardo “Caldo” Andres Santos of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, died Nov. 13, 2000, at
his home at the age of 91.
A truck driver for Grove Farm with the sugar
industry, he was born Oct. 31, 1909, in Peddig, Ilocos Norte,
Philippines.
He is survived by three sons: Daniel (Joyce) Tomas of Lihu’e,
Matthew (Adele) Santos of Kapa’a, and Timothy (Val) Santos of Hanama’ulu; two
daughters: Donna Kaliko Santos of Hanama’ulu and Maxie (Ty) Kaluahine of Puhi;
11 grandchildren and eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 20, at Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. Services will be celebrated at noon.
Burial to follow at Lihu’e Public Cemetery.
Casal attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Berhida Villamor
Nancy Berhida Villamor of Hanapepe, Kaua’i, died Nov. 9,
2000, at her home at the age of 84.
A sales clerk for a grocery store, she
was born Oct. 8, 1917, in Kilauea, Kaua’i. She also served as a caretaker for
the elderly for the state of Hawai’i, caring for many of them in her home in
Hanapepe Heights. She received nominations for Outstanding Senior Citizen and
Outstanding Older American.
She is survived by one daughter: Flora Coleman
of Kekaha; one son: Thomas (Loretta) Quicho of Pakala and one sister: Vicenta
Remata of Pakala; one son-in-law: Juan Espinosa of Guam; 27 grandchildren; 29
great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one sister in law, Loling
(Domingo) Omakanim of Pakala.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Nov.
18, at the Waimea Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. Mass to be
celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in
Hanapepe.
Thelma Shibukawa
Thelma Akiko Shibukawa of Lihu’e,
Kaua’i, died Nov. 2, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital on O’ahu, at the age of
61.
Born Sept. 17, 1939, in Kona, HI, she was employed by Tip Top Cafe and
Bakery for 38 years.
She is survived by one son, Robert (Cindy Hernandez)
Shibukawa, sisters Rose (Harrison) Iga, Jean (George) Nakamura, and brothers
Clyde Tokumura, Oliver (Nora) Tokumura, mother Harue Tokumura, brother-in-law,
James Mori; grandchildren Robert Jr. , Cody and Erin; numerous nieces and
nephews.
Private services were held on Nov. 12, in Honolulu. Friends may
visit with the family on Sunday, Nov. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the home of
Robert Shibukawa, 2949 Wala Rd. in Lihu’e.
Robert Sifers
Robert
“Bob” Sifers, of Lawai, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 10,
2000, at the age of 69.
Born in Kansas CIty, Missouri on Nov. 21, 1930,
he was a retired Program Manager with Pacific Missile Range Facility and a
retired veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by: his wife:
Ryoko Sifers of Lawai, Kaua’i; two daughters: Holly (Randall) Wood of
Mililani, O’ahu and Niki Sifers Petro of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; three
grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov.
21, at the Hanapepe United Church of Christ. Casual attire is suggested and
that flowers be omitted. Private inurnment.
