Born in Samson, Alabama on
May 22, 1912, she was a retired LPN with Huntington West Minister Park
Hospital.
She is survived by: one daughter: Leigh (Edward) Whitaker of
Kapa’a, Kaua’i; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday,
Nov. 11, at Lihu’e Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul officiating. Burial to
follow at the church cemetery. Casual or aloha attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Chiyono “Gladys” Ikemoto, of Kekaha, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox
Memorial Hospital on Nov. 7, 2000, at the age of 82.
Born in Lawai,
Kaua’i on Sept.; 26, 1918, she was a retired Seamstress with Iolani
Sportsware.
She is survived by: one son: Kenneth (Dorothy) Ikemoto of
Cerritos, Calif.; four daughters: Linda (Jerry) Oshima of Lihu’e, Kaua’i,
Evelyn (Paul) Oshima of Kaneohe, O’ahu, Arlene (Ronnie) Campos of Kekaha,
Kaua’i, and Helene (Nolan) Ichiki of Kahului, Maui; 13 grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; one brother: Toshio (Fumiyo) Kouchi of Honolulu, O’ahu;
one sister-in-law: Shigeko Kouchi of Honolulu, O’ahu; and numerous
cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov.
11, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Rev. Noriaki
Fujimori will begin at 3 p.m. followed by interment at Kauai Memorial
Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.
