Born in Nawiliwili, Kaua’i on Sept.
11, 1926, he was a retired Service Office Manager with Hawaiian Tel; also a
veterans of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by: his wife:
Kimie Apaka of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; son: Cedric Kahale (Cobey) Apaka of Ewa,
O’ahu; two daughters: Alison Pomaikai (Durgh) Kane of Lihu’e and Laurel
Puanani Apaka of Honolulu, O’ahu; four grandchildren; two brothers: Richmond
(Pat) Apaka of Washington and Kenneth (Pansy) Apaka of Hilo, Hawai’i; one
sister: Hilda Apaka of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at
the Kaua’i Veteran Center in Lihu’e; service will begin at 4:30 p.m. Interment
will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Alfredo Mendoza, of ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i, died at Queen’s Medical
Center on Nov. 1, 2000, at the age of 76.
Born in Rosales, Pangasinan,
Philippines on Jan. 1, 1924, he was a retired Field worker with McBryde Sugar
Co.
He is survived by: one son: Fred Mendoza of ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i; two
daughters: Aurora Mendoza and Myrna Mendoza, both of ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i; one
grandson: Gevon Rayray of ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i; and one sister: Margarita Mendoza
of the Philippines.
Friends may visit with the family at 8:30 a.m. on
Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Kings Chapel First Assembly of God; behind ‘Ele’ele
Big Save; service officiated by Pastor Phil Moroco will begin at 10:30 a.m.
followed by burial at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is
suggested.
