He is survived by
his wife: Maria Sagucio of Hanapepe; two daughters: Alejandra Mabini of
Hanapepe and Tina (Sammy) Pedro of California; two brothers: Manuel Sagucio of
Hanapepe and Paolo (Maria) Sagucio of Honolulu; 20 grandchildren; 26
great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; numerous nieces and
nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3, at Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. Service at 7 p.m. Visitation
again on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the ‘Ele’ele Episcopalian Church at 8 a.m.
Services to be celebrated at 9 a.m. burial to follow at Hanapepe Filipino
Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by
Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Anna May Nawili Swain of
Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died at her home on Oct. 31, 2000, at the age of 77.
The
proprietor of a florist shop, she was born May 30, 1923, in Wahiawa,
Kaua’i.
She is survived by two daughters: Laverne (Paul) Silva, Jr. of
Kalaheo and Netta (Bruce) Gilpatrick of Washington; one sister: Ethel Buchanan
of Kalaheo; seven grandchildren, two great grand-children and two great great
grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for
Friday, Nov. 3, at the Kalaheo Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 9 a.m.
Services to start at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the Kaua’i Veterans
Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by

Masaichi Yoshihara
of Kapa’a died Jan. 18, 1918, at his home at the age of 82.
A carpenter
for Shioi Construction, and a U.S. Army veteran, he was born Jan. 18, 1918, in
Kapa’a.
He is survived by his wife: Masayo Tamura Yoshihara of Kapa’a;
three sons: Dennis (Amy) Yoshihara of California, Gordon Yoshihara of Kapa’a
and Wayne Yoshihara of Kapa’a; one daughter; April (Michael) Womack of Kapa’a;
and one sister: Shigeno Nishida of Honolulu; numerous nieces, nephews, and
cousins; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is
scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3, at at the Kapa’a Hongwanji Mission at 3 p.m.

in Honolulu, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Clyde, son, Robert
(Christine) French of Omao, daughters: Iwalani (Brian) Dyck of Verdi, Nev.,
Leilani (Flip) McDiarmid of Kailua, O’ahu, brother, Aaron (Betty) Chaney of
Honolulu, Hi; sister-in-law, Emma Lichota of Honolulu, HI; grandchildren,
Rochelle (Bill) Ballard, Hoku Gordines, Kelly, Jessica and Kainoa French,
Robert, Matthew and Jonathan Dyck, Heather, Mac and Shannon
McDiarmid.
Services will be on Friday, Nov. 3, at 5 p.m. at St. Michael and
All Angels’ Episcopal Church in Lihu’e. Casual attire is suggested. In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to St. Michael and All
Angels’, Hospice, Wilcox Hospital Hospital, Auxiliary or any charity of your
choice.

William “Billy” Jardin Jr., of
Escondido, Calif., died on Oct. 26, 2000, in Escondido, at the age of 50.
A
heavy equipment operator, he was born Feb. 10, 1950, in Waimea, Kaua’i. He is
survived by his wife: Tina Jardin of Escondido, Calif., son: Kimo Jardin of
Kapa’a, Kaua’i; daughter: Tracy Jardin of Lahaina, Maui; two granddaughters;
mother: Beatrice Capocci of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; two brothers: Caesar (Kris) Jardin
of Kalaheo, Kaua’i and Gary (Heidi) Jardin of Anahola, Kaua’i; two sisters:
Sandra (Dickson) Inouye of Kalaheo, Kaua’i and Maelyn (Kevin) Ikeda of Hilo,
Hawai’i.
Friends may visit with the family at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4,
at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo; service officiated by Father
Keahi will begin at 2 p.m. followed by burial in the church cemetery. Casual
attire is suggested.

Noberto Suan
Noberto “Max” Suan of Honolulu, HI;
and formerly of Kaua’i, died Oct. 10, 2000, at Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali
Momi, at the age of 72.
Born June 6, 1928, in Puhi, Kaua’i, he was retired
from Hawaiian Airlines as a chief agent-crew scheduler (35 years). He was a
member of the United Visayan Club, U.S. Army veteran and an usher for St.
Elizabeth Church in Aiea.
He is survived by his wife Diosdada “Dada” Ewa
Suan, three sons, Matthews (Kuulei) Suan, Scott (Cheery Ann) Suan, and Shane
(Gloria Higa) Suan; two brothers, Frank Suan and Lawrence Suan of Honolulu;
five sisters, Patsy Canales of Honolulu, Dorothy (Deme) Agustin of Puhi,
Kaua’i, Mary Oshima of Honolulu, Josephine (Joe) Gatiuan of Wailua, Kaua’i and
Elizabeth (Roger) Batara of Honolulu; two grandchildren, Porsche and Corvette
Suan of Hilo; one great-grandson Justice Suan; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
Services were held at St. Elizabeth Church, Aiea on
Oct. 24, followed by burial at Mililani Memorial Park-Waipio.

Bidwell
Barbara Macpherson Bidwell of Wailua, Kaua’i, died on Sept. 11,
2000, at the age of 78.
Born in Rochester, New York, she graduated from the
State University of Iowa and taught physical education at Waimea High School
from 1948 to 1978. After retirement, she worked for as a veterinary aide and
then as a volunteer at the Kaua’i Humane Society.
Survivors include her
sister, Carol B. Conway of San Diego, Calif.; a niece Diana B. Gallagos of
Albuquerque, NM; and two nephews, Scott M. Conway of San Antonio, Tx. and
Richard Bidwell of Highland Park, IL.
A memorial service will be held at
Kikiaola Boat Harbor on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m.

Reyes
Jasey Sakurai Delos Reyes of Honolulu, died on Oct. 8, 2000, at the
age of 11.
Born Oct. 24, 1988, in Honolulu, she is survived by her parents:
Jason Delos Reyes of Honolulu and Lavern Carpenter of Honolulu; paternal
grandfather, Felipe Delos Reyes of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, maternal grandmother,
Marjorie Carpenter of Honolulu.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 .am.
on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Nuuanu Mortuary; services will be held at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at City Memorial Park. The family asks that flowers be
omitted and suggests casual attire.
