to defeat Kapa’a in Kaua’i Interscholastic Federation action Thursday. The boys
won 1,199 to 1,028; the girls, 1,155 to 856.
Senior Albert Santos paced the
Menehunes’ boys’ effort, shooting a match-high 254 (out of 300). Santos was
followed by teammate Mark Medina’s 247, Fred Flores’ 240, Thomas Santos’ 236
and Davin Taniguchi’s 222.
Kapa’a’s top shooter was Jason Skinner with a
236. Rounding out the Warriors’ top five were Jan Hase (216), Joel Miyashiro
(197), Jonathan Ibanez (190) and Christopher Cuyo (187).
For the girls,
Waimea was paced by Benjilyn Shaffer’s 242. Jaime Koerte finished next with a
238, then Kristen Aguilar (230), Jamime Otto (223) and Ashley Canon (222).
Kapa’a’s top shooter was Stephanie Cuyo with a 208. She was followed by Wency
Luczon (182), Cheilee Miyashiro (177), Chasity Ito (152) and Nicole Torio
(137).
