Results for Saturday, Sept. 16
Pop
Warner
Kekaha Seahawks, 30
Hanapepe Cowboys, 0
It was over early in
this contest. Chad Barba and Mervin Passion each scored twice in the first
quarter to propel the Seahawks to a 30-0 advantage by the end of the period.
Barba ran for touchdowns of five and 34 yards, while Passion scored from
35 and 55 yards out.
Drew Ueno connected on three extra points for
Kekaha.
Koloa Rams, 14
Lihu’e Dolphins, 6
Kaeo Dias got the Rams on
the board midway through the second period with a two-yard plunge into the end
zone. The Dolphins wasted little time retaliating, as Brendan Young scrambled
44 yards with under a minute remaining to tie the score at six.
But as time
ran out in the first half, Dias again provided, galloping 45 yards for what
would prove to be the winning score. Alan Kalili nailed the extra point to
bring the final tally to 14-6.

Hanapepe Colts, 6
The Colts got their only points of the game when
Aaron J. Ramos scampered 37 yards with 5:48 remaining for the score and the
early lead.
The Panthers couldn’t get on the board in the first half, but
did get a sack of Colts QB Gavin Miyazaki in the end zone by Jayrald Watanabe
for a safety.
The Panthers then got three scores in the fourth quarter to
put the game out of reach. Kylan Gandia picked up the first two, on runs of 19
and 27 yards. Kalani Apilado then recovered a Colts’ fumble, setting up a
29-yard TD run by Jonah-Cy Pascua.
Koloa Packers, 12
Lihu’e Jaguars,

Dustin Foley got the Packers on the scoreboard at the 8:38 mark of the
first quarter with a 23-yard TD run. Foley also scored in the second quarter,
hustling 64 yards to the end zone for the 12-0 Packers’ lead.
The Jaguars
finally got on the board late, as Micah Alayvillar dashed 27 yards for a
score.
Midgets
Hanapepe Broncos, 27
Kekaha Chargers, 0
It was
all Broncos in this one. Bully Emayo put his team on the board late in the
first half with a four-yard run for a TD. John-Vincent Palacio kicked the extra
point. Then, following a fumble recovery by the Broncos’ Kaylen Rita, the squad
drove the ball 60 yards, finishing the drive with a four-yard run by Chauncy
Banasihan. Shawn Yadao kicked the extra point.
In the third quarter, Yadao
recovered a fumble, setting up a 44-yard TD pass from Palacio to Lance Kauwe
for the score. The Broncos capped their efficient offensive afternoon with
another TD pass, this one for 20 yards, from Palacio to Joseph Kali.

Patriots, 14
Koloa Raiders, 8
The Patriots got on the board first when
QB Kekoa Crowell found Kevin Cadiente for a six-yard TD pass. The Pats
benefitted from the field position set up by Westin Victorino’s 50-yard punt
return.
At the end of the first quarter, the Patriots struck again, this
time on a two-yard TD run by Victorino, who also scored the extra point for a
14-0 lead.
The Raiders got on the board midway through the final period,
when Kevin Kai dove two yards into the end zone for the score.

Kapa’a Steelers, 39
Northshore
Giants, 0
Shea Alapai got the Steelers going early with a three-yard score
just minutes into the game. Near the end of the first quarter, Ekolu Allianic
fought two yards for the first of his two TD runs (the other, and 11-yard dash,
came in the second quarter).
Lopine Apuna also scored twice, once in the
third quarter, and a second time on a one-yard reception from Allianic. Greg
Ragsac intercepted a Giants’ pass in the fourth quarter, and ran it back 52
yards for the score.
Midgets
Kapa’a Vikings, 32
Northshore Chiefs,
Issac Miyashiro scored first for the Vikings, on a 49-yard blast to the
end zone. With Blaine Baxter’s successful two-point effort, Kapa’a led 8-0
early.
Then Greg Alisna took over, scoring twice in the second quarter, on
two 13-yard runs. Baxter added the two-point conversion each time for a 24-0
Vikings lead at the half.
William Higa scored from one-yard out, and Baxter
added the conversion, in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.
