I feel deep sorrow and concern for the safety of the wahines of our beloved
island. The recent rise of violent crimes against women here on the west side
and the north shore must stop. My heart is heavy and I have been thinking a
great deal about it.
Please, may we all try to love and protect one another
better. May we all pray that this person or persons who are committing these
crimes awaken and turn themselves into the Kaua’i Police Department to face
their deeds.
All you men out there please help by taking extra special
care of your wives, sisters, mothers, daughters and aunties. We must all join
together in times of need. My prayers will be that love, peace, and compassion
will prevail on this island and that we perform only loving acts of kindness
toward one another.
It is challenging to do this. I have faith that we
can.
