Marion ‘Ted’ Shanks Marion R. “Ted” Shanks, of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at
Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Aug. 14, 2000, at the age of 81.
Born in
Rogersville, Tenn. on Nov. 16, 1919, he was a retired farmer.
He is
survived by: one son: Ted (Cathy) Shanks of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; daughter: Karen
Liberman of Lihu’e; grandsons: Justin and Troy Shanks of Lihu’e; numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service has been scheduled at 3 p.m.
on Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery.
Casual attire is
suggested.

Ltd.
Frances Childs
Frances Johnston Childs, of Lihu’e, Kaua’i,
died at Wilcox Hospital on Aug. 13, 2000 at the age of 78.
The widow of
Clinton L. Childs, she was born in Michigan. She was a member of the Wilcox
Hospital Volunteers, director of the Lihu’e Cemetary Association and an avid
bridge player.
She was a retired jewelry store manager at the Kaua’i Surf,
former member of the Mokihana Club and past director of Seabury Hall.
She
is survived by: son: Patrick (Jeanne) Childs; daughters Christy (Ron) Peeren
and Candis Childs; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held
on Thursday, Aug. 17, at 4 p.m. In her memory and in lieu of flowers, donations
may be sent to Wilcox Hospital.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden
Island Mortuary.
