11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother: Robert Yong of
Waimea, Kaua’i; three sisters: Hazel (Masami) Kawada of Wailua, Kaua’i,
Glorianna (William) Lane of Honolulu, Oahu, and Alice Pacheco of Kilauea,
Kaua’i; in-laws, Elizabeth Costa, John (Barbara) Kaauwai, Henriette (Robert)
Gonsalves, Ipo Kaauwai, Delores Kaauwai, Kenneth (Alicia) Kaauwai, William

Friends
may visit with the family at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, at the First Hawaiian
Church in Kapa’a; service officiated by Kahu Richard Kamanu will begin at 11
a.m. followed by burial at the church cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Homesteads, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 30, 2000, at the
age of 61.
Friends may call at St. Catherine’s Church on Monday, Aug. 7,
from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Services will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Bruce and
Fr. David officiating.
A cardiologist in Ingelstadt, Germany, he was born
May 22, 1939, in Leipzig, Germany. He retired two years ago and moved to
Kaua’i.
Dr. Wirtzfeld is survived by his wife, Silvia, of Wailua
Homesteads; one son, Oliver of Munich, Germany; two daughters: Felicitas
(Stephen) Marinello of Boston, Mass., and Stephanie (Martin) Andreas of
Germany; three grandchildren; and three sisters, all in Germany.
Casual
attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Koloa
Mortuary.
