of 54. Born in Ni’ihau, Hawai’i, on Feb. 3, 1946, he was retired from Gay &
Robinson Sugar.
He is survived by: his wife: Beverly Kanahele of Makaweli,
Kaua’i; two sons: Robert Kamakauliuli Kanahele, Jr. of Koloa, Kaua’i and
Johnston Keliiokalani Kanahele of Makaweli, Kaua’i; two daughers: Beverly
(Amani) Ioelu of Camp 6, Kaua’iand Donella Kaleiuilani Kanahele of Makaweli,
Kaua’i; one hanai-son: Mark Kamakauliuli Kauionalani Kanahele and one
granddaughter; his father: Henry Waiola Kanahele; three brothers: Lani Kanahele
of Hilo, Hawaii, Henry (Juliet) Kanahele and Joseph (Sharon) Kanahele, both of
Camp 6, Kaua’i; one sister: Helen (Stanley) Kanahele of Ni’ihau; numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-9
p.m. on Thursday, June 15, at the Garden Island Mortuary with Rev. Dana
Kaohelaulii officiating. Visitation again at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 16, at the
Waimea Hawaiian Church; service at 11 a.m. followed by burial at the Kekaha
Hawaiian Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Elmendorf Johnston, of Kalaheo, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June
4, 2000, atthe age of 76.
Born in Michigan on June 6, 1923, she was a
retired Bookkeeper with Merriott Hotel.
She is survived by: one son: John
Johnston of Upper Marlboro, MD; one daughter: Ellen (Bruce) Couloobe of
Kalaheo, Kauai; three grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Services were private.

Shizuno Hashimoto
Shizuno Hashimoto, of
Kapaa, Kauai, died Friday, June 2, 2000 at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital,
at the age of 100. She was born in Hiroshima, Japan.
She is survived by:
three sons: Edward (Miyoko) Hashimoto of Honolulu, Oahu, Richard (Miyeko)
Hashimoto of Honolulu, Oahu, and Henry (Beatrice) Hashimoto of Kapaa, Kauai;
and one daughter: Gladys Togikawa of Kapaa, Kauai; 10 grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
The family requests no floral and/or monetary
offerings. Private services were held.
