born Nov. 27, 1909, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Irene
Ito Sacramed of Kapa’a; one son: Dean (Charlene) Sacramed of Kapa’a; one
grandson: Isaiah Sacramed of Kapa’a; one brother: John (Andrain) Tabige of the
Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled
for Wednesday, June 7, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m.
Services to be conducted at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu’e Public
Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by
Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

of Kapahi, Kaua’i, died June 2, 2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of
16.
A junior at Kapa’a High School, he was born Nov. 21, 1983, in
Lihu’e.
He is survived by his parents, Andrew and Laureen Alesna; two
sisters, Andrea Alesna and Chelsie Alesna, both of Kapahi; one niece, Raylene
Rivera-Alesna of Kapahi and one nephew, Rylan Rivera-Alesna of Kapahi; paternal
grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Alejandro Alesna of Kealia; maternal grandmother,
Mrs. Jennis Christian of Kapahi; and great grandmother, Isabella Iida of
Lihu’e; aunts and uncles: Jose Antoy, Mona Apana, Fred and Mel Alesna, Alric
Alesna and Kuuipo Apana; Charlene Alesna; Amber and Eddie Ancheta; Randy and
Suzette Racca; Timmy and Jan Alalem; Claire Christian and children; Tom and
Jolynn Babauta; Wayne and Rose Manago; godparents Ernest and Rosita Paden;
numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 9,
at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa’a from 10 a.m. where Mass will be
celebrated at noon by Father Bruce. Burial to follow at St. Catherine’s
Catholic Church Cemetery in Kealia.
Casual attire is suggested.

Clinton Kaleo Masaru Nakagoshi of Kilauea died June 3, 2000, at
Queen’s Medical Center, at the age of 16.
A junior at Kapa’a High School,
he was born July 23, 1983, in Lihu’e.
He is survived by his parents: Thomas
and Donna Nakagoshi of Kilauea; two brothers: Davin Nakagoshi and Michael
Nakagoshi, both of Kilauea; maternal grandparents; Donald and Loretta Boro of
Kilauea; three uncles: Mark Nakagoshi, Kevin Boro, and Kelly Boro, all of
Kilauea; two aunts, Candace Nakagoshi and Duchess Boro, both of Kilauea;
numerous grand aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for
Saturday, June 10, at St. Sylvester’s Catholic Church in Kilauea from 8:30 a.m.
where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Bruce. Burial to follow
at Kilauea Japanese Cemetery on Lighthouse Road.

Theodore “Ted” F. Wilson, of Princeville, Kaua’i, died
at home on June 3, 2000, at the age of 80.
Born in Newark, New Jersey on
Sept. 11, 1919, he was a retired Chemical Engineer and owner/operator of
Wilson Products.
He is survived by: his wife: Rosemary Wilson of
Princeville, Kauai; two sons: Dr. William H. (Kauanoe Kamana) Wilson of Hilo,
Hawaii and David F. Wilson of Paia, Maui; one daughter: Elisabeth “Betsy”
Wilson of Honolulu, Oahu; five grandchildren; one brother: James C. Wilson of
Wichita, Kansas; two sisters: Patricia A. Wilson of Norco, Calif. and Claudine
Cox of Springfield, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service has been scheduled at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, at St.
Sylvester Catholic Church in Kilauea; with service officiated by Father Bruce.
Interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl). Casual
attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.

Oriki Iseri of
Koloa, Kaua’i, died May 26, 2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of
80.
A retired cook with the hotel industry for Po’ipu Beach and Wai’ohai
Hotels, he was born Sept. 2, 1919.
Private services were held. Arrangements
were handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Poppin
Nicholas John Poppin of Kilauea died June 3, 2000, at the age
of 65.
A retired general contractor, he was born May 17, 1935, in San
Francisco, Calif.
He is survived by his mother, Emma, wife Georgia,
children Mike, Greg, Dean, Katherine and their spouses and eight
grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at his home on Thursday,
June 8, 4 to 6 p.m. Friends are invited to bring their favorite pupus to
share.
A memorial fund has been established in his name at Kaua’i Christian
Academy, P.O. Box 1121, Kilauea HI 96754.
Maria Taniguchi
Maria
Taniguchi of Waimea died June 4, 2000, at her home at the age of 81.
A
homemaker, she was born May 16, 1919, in Kekaha.
She is survived by three
sons: Eddie (Eloise) Taniguchi, Jr. of Waimea, Roger (Jennifer) Taniguchi of
Lihu’e, and Wayne (Raynette) Taniguchi of Kalaheo; two daughters: Sarah
Borengasser of O’ahu and Marveline “Nani” (Clarence) Gardener of Lawa’i; one
brother: George (Pua) Furtado of O’ahu; 16 grandchildren, 27
great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is
scheduled for Thursday, June 8, at Kekaha Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
from 8 a.m. where services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Burial to follow at
Kekaha Public Cemetery.
