A bagasse operator for Lihu’e
Plantation, he was born Jan. 5, 1914, in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte,
Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Nieves Daliva Lagazo of
Hanama’ulu; two daughters: Teodora Dela Cruz and Clarita (Gilbert) Medeiros,
Jr., both of Hanama’ulu; one son: Tony (Linda) Lagazo of Hanama’ulu; one
adopted son: Henry Lagazo of Hanama’ulu; one sister: Marcela Lagazo of the
Philippines; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several step-brothers
and step-sisters in the Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, June 3, at St. Michael’s
& All Angels Church in Lihu’e from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where services will
be conducted at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu’e Public Cemetery.
Casual
attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i
Mortuary.
Stephanie Evans
Stephanie Rose Panuszka Evans of Morro Bay,
Calif.; died May 27, 2000, at the age of 73.
A Morro Bay resident since
1964, she was one of the first police officers in the town when it
incorporated. She was also remembered for her numerous trips to an orphanage in
Mexico with gifts and food and her work with “Meals on Wheels.”
She was
born Feb. 9, 1927, in Nanticoke, Penn.
She is survived by two daughters:
Dodi Evans of Bellingham, Wash., and Rose M. Pia of Kaua’i; four grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; one brother, Stanley Panuszka and two nephews in
Pennsylvania.
A “Celebration of Life” will take place on June 10, at St.
Timothy’s Church in Morro Bay at 2 p.m.
