Senior Centers Softball League played at the Kaumakani Park.
Fontanilla, in
getting the win, threw a 7-hitter for his fourth victory.
Ronnie Holt
suffered the loss for East Kaua`i.
Dickie Sialana led the Rookies’ bats
with 3 hits on the day with Wally Sonoda, Nellie Mendonca, Archie Fontanilla,
and Doric Remata all pairing hits. Alex Youn banged a home on his 2-for-2
day.
The Lihu`e A’s knocked K-Makules pitcher Daido Paiste out of the mound
in the first inning by scoring seven runs and went on to win 19-9.
Buster
Matsumura went five innings to pick up the win for Lihu`e with “Uncle” Louie
Almadova throwing the last two innings.
Tomo Hiranaka went 4-for-5 behind
the plate with Yuta Matsumura having a perfect 3-for-3 outing. Joe Brun was
3-for-4. Lefty Remata cracked a homerun on one of his 3 hits.
John
Taboniar and Dado Paiste paired hits for K-Makules.
Frank Bukoski picked up
the win on the mound for West Kaua`i by allowing 10 hits in a 28-9
blowout.
Jose Yadao was strapped with 28 hits in the loss.
Brudda
Rittmiestor had a perfect 5-for-5 outing behind the plate with Boni Garma
enjoying a 4-for-5 showing. Bobby Rita went 3-for-4 and Ken Tamashiro was able
to get 2 hits, one being a 2-run homerun.
This weekend’s games will be
staged at the Eleele Field with the K-Makules hosting West Kaua`i in the 9:15
opener. The Rookies meets Kawaihau in the second outing, and the Lihu`e A’s
take on East Kaua`i in the finale.
