Leimomi Ramson of Louisiana; grand-nephew: Darrel Jacobs of Kapa’a, Kaua’i;
and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with
the family at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints, Kapa’a Ward; service officiated by Bishop Richard Sheldon
will begin at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at the Kaua’i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested.

Ashford Kalawela Kapahu of
Kekaha died May 16, 2000, at his home in Kekaha at the age of 81.
A heavy
equipment operator for R. Electric, he was born Aug. 28, 1918, in
Waimea.
He is survived by his wife: Miriam Momi Hookano Kapahu of Kekaha;
one son: Howard (Pat) Naleimaile of ‘Oma’o; four daughters: Nona (Bob)
McCullough of California, Helene (Tommy) Vierra of Lawa’i, Becky Kapahu of
Kekaha, and Wanda Santiago of Kekaha; four sisters; three brothers; numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins; 17 grandchildren and 30
great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 22, at the
family residence at 8101 Kekaha Road for overnight visitation starting at 1
p.m. Services are scheduled on Tuesday, May 23, at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery
Pavilion in Hanapepe at 1 p.m. Burial will also be at the Veterans Cemetery
after the services at the pavilion.
Casual attire is suggested.

Anita Hosino Vegas of ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i, died at her home on May 13,
2000, at the age of 68.
A homemaker, she was born May 23, 1931, in
Kekaha.
She is survived by her husband: John M. Vegas of Puhi; four
daughters: Cindy (Gary) Ortiz of California, Joann (Warren) Kawaguchi of
Eleele, Jerrylynn (Wilson) Rivera of O’ahu, Lona Vegas of Koloa; one sister,
Mary (Albert) Rio of O’ahu, nine grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, May 24, at Holy Cross
Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 11
a.m. by Father Keahi. There will be no graveside service.
The family
suggests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.
