HONOLULU—The Kapa`a Lady Warriors dropped their opener at the HHSAA Girls
State Basketball championships played Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at the
Stan Sheriff Center on the campus of the University of Hawai`i at
Manoa.
Jordyn Danner paced the Warriors with 15 points, but the effort fell
short as Punahou soared past Kapa`a 58-36 behind the scoring of Milia
Macfarlane’s 21 points.
The loss pits the Lady Warriors against Seabury
Hall on Thursday with tipoff scheduled for 5 p.m.
Other opening day results
had Honoka`a’s Erika Tadio’s 16 points leading the Dragons to a 60-35 win over
the Leilehua Mules (Sequoya Stokes 11 points), and Maui’s Rosalina Masler’s 25
points led 67-47 win over Kahuku (Teisa Fotu 16 points).
