JV, and Kapa`a High were winners in the latest games played at the Kalaheo
Neighborhood Center.

KALAHEO— Jay Parinas’
20-point scoring explosion coupled with 10-point efforts from Mark andres and
Ricky Riopta to push the Waimea JV squad to a 42-37 win over the Hanapepe Dream
Team in the first of three games played in the 17 & Under boys basketball
league on Sunday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Joe Kamai came alive
in the second half with 11 points to lead the Dream Team as did Chad Rita who
scored all of his 7 points in the second half.
Team Ekahi held onto their
slim 21-20 halftime lead to edge past the Kapa`a High team 55-51 in the second
contest behind the scoring of Hoku Aki who ended with 13 points followed
closely by Eric Tanimoto’s 12-point contribution.
Jeffery Gimenez and Kapu
Hendrickson fueled the Kapa`a High team with 14 and 13 points
respectively.
Gabe Serrato, Cody Dolor, and John Patch exploded for
double-digit scoring to pace Da Realest’s 71-42 win over the Boys & Girls
Club in the finale.
Serrato led Da Realest scoring with 19 points followed
by Patch’s 17 points and Dolor’s 13 points.
Jonah Bond had 13 points to
lead the Boys & Girls Club.
