He is survived by his caregiver:
Helen Iwai of Wailua; two sons: Patrick (Dawn) Kaihara of Lihue and Wesley
(Judy) Kaihara of California; one daughter: Alison (Randall) Matsumoto of
Lihue; five grandchildren; one brother: Yasuto Kaihara of O’ahu; numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2, at
Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 3 p.m. with services to be
conducted at 4 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Helen T. Soma, of Kealia, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on
April 24, 2000, at the age of 73.
Born in Honolulu, Oahu on May 21, 1926,
she is survived by: her husband, Takazo Soma of Kealia, Kaua’i; two sons:
Warren (Kathryn) Soma of Honolulu, O’ahu, and Layne Soma of Kihei, Maui; one
daughter: Aileen (Gregg) Daima of Wahiawa, O’ahu; four grandchildren; one
brother: George (Kay) Uemura of Honolulu, O’ahu; one sister: Katherine (Pat)
Takayama of ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Funeral service has been scheduled at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April
30, at the Kapa’a Hongwanji Mission; with Rev. Takata officiating. Casual
attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
